Update:
I don't know how many of you are familiar with the
Debbie Green 5K Run/Walk for Leukemia, but it is an annual race held in
Wheeling WV by local resident Ron Green in memory of his sister Debbie Green
who lost her courageous battle with Leukemia in April of 1972. Ron was too
young to feel helpful at that time, and now holds the race to benefit local
children with leukemia that need love and support, just as Debbie did years
ago.

Debbie Green Race Raises Money For Local Patient
If anyone would be interested in participating in
the many events that take place on this weekend, please visit the website ( http://www.debbiegreen5k.com/ ) or
contact myself (eabednar@comcast.net)
or Ron Green (RonGreen@DebbieGreen5K.com
)for
an information packet. There are racing, walking, children's and even wheelchair
divisions and the draw on the event is international. The race was even
televised on Comcast last year.
There are also sponsorship and advertising
packages available that are completely tax deductible and a good way for any
business that you know to get a lot of good exposure, and benefit a great
cause at the same time.
Please feel free to pass this
information along to anyone you feel may be interested.
Thanks in advance and God Bless,
Ed
On Monday July 31st, 2006, my family and I received devastating news in that my oldest son, Logan had been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. For information about this form of childhood cancer, please click on the following link.

This diagnosis was a tremendous surprise to everyone involved, since Logan has rarely, if ever, been sick, and really had not been complaining of any particular illness. Concern that he was a bit pale and fatiguing easily prompted a visit to his pediatrician, whom also did not suspect the truth of his condition until a blood test to check for anemia showed an abnormally high white blood cell count.
Logan is now being treated by Akron Children's Hospital and receiving the best of care from a very experienced
Oncology facility and Doctor M. Taliazadeh. His Chemotherapy is progressing well but has been hard on him, but I believe in his inner strength to carry him through. I simply ask that anyone who reads this please keep him in your thoughts and prayers and ask friends to do the same as he battles this difficult but treatable cancer.
